The Land

Stewards of a small piece of prairie.

Our family farmstead in Vale, South Dakota, is home to rescued animals, a big garden, bees and a growing off-grid classroom. It’s where we live what I write about.

The Farmstead

Where faith, food and family meet the ground.

We came home to South Dakota to raise our children close to the land. Our days follow the animals and the seasons: feeding, mending fences, tending the garden and the hives, and putting up food for winter.

Living this way has taught me more about patience, provision and stewardship than any book I’ve written. The farmstead is where my writing on faith, food and finance gets tested in real life.
